Using Built-in Tools
1. Open the image in the Photos app.
2. Click on “Edit & Create” in the top menu.
3. Select “Resize” from the dropdown.
4. Choose a preset size or enter custom dimensions.
5. Click “Save a copy” to preserve the original.
Using PowerToys (Updated for 2025)
1. Install the latest PowerToys from the Microsoft Store.
2. Right-click on an image or multiple images in File Explorer.
3. Select “Resize with PowerToys” from the context menu.
4. Choose from preset sizes or enter custom dimensions.
5. Click “Resize” to save the compressed images.
Mac Computers
Using Preview
1. Open the image in Preview.
2. Go to Tools > Adjust Size.
3. Enter new dimensions or select a preset size.
4. Check “Scale proportionally” to maintain aspect ratio.
5. Click “OK” and save the resized image.
Using Quick Actions
1. Select the image in Finder.
2. Right-click and choose “Quick Actions” > “Resize Image”.
3. Select a preset size or enter custom dimensions.
4. Click “Resize” to save the compressed image.
Chromebooks
Using the Files App
1. Open the Files app and select your image.
2. Click on the “Edit” icon (pencil symbol).
3. Select “Resize” from the editing options.
4. Choose a preset size or enter custom dimensions.
5. Click “Save” to create a compressed copy.
iPhones and iPads
Using the Photos App
1. Open the Photos app and select your image.
2. Tap the “Edit” button.
3. Tap the crop icon, then tap the resize icon (overlapping rectangles).
4. Choose a preset size or drag the slider to adjust dimensions.
5. Tap “Done” to save the resized image.
Using Shortcuts
1. Open the Shortcuts app.
2. Create a new shortcut for image resizing.
3. Add the “Resize Image” action and set your preferred dimensions.
4. Run the shortcut on selected images to compress them quickly.
Android Phones and Tablets
Using Google Photos
1. Open Google Photos and select your image.
