Navigating the Home Tab in Genius: A Quick Guide for Teachers

DASHBOARD TAB

The Dashboard is configured for you by administrator roles. The display will show various data tables in report format from pie charts to lists. The only data you see here is that of students who are enrolled into your classes. This is view only for teachers unless specified otherwise by administrator users.

ANALYTICS TAB

The Analytics tab is comprised of more data tables that generate analytical reports of the students and classes you teach. It can give you broad insights into the students you teach and their progress in their enrollments. This is also view only and cannot be configured otherwise.

TASKS TAB

Tasks are either assigned to you or for you to assign, depending on the circumstance and workflow. This is not for students or guardians, but for colleagues and internal staff. To view or send tasks, check this tab daily.

NOTIFICATIONS TAB

Notifications are configured for you by administrator roles. Some notifications you might see include new enrollments and new class completions.

EMAIL TEMPLATES TAB

To send custom emails through Genius Class+, create them in the Email Templates tab. Create a name, description, subject, and then select a TYPE. Type signifies the action this email is associated with. So, for example, if it says "APPLICATION", this would be something sent relating to a pending application to the school.

Copy the appropriate users and save to use when needed.

GLOBAL SEARCH TAB

Search the whole Genius Class+ site with a word or phrase to dive into the database for necessary information and records. Please note that teachers have limited access to the data retrieved here and are limited to students that are enrolled in the teacher's classes.

COURSE CATALOG

The Course Catalog is a view of whatever type of catalog the administrators have configured. Some institutions use this, others do not, depending on workflows. This is the same view a student or prospective student might have of the classes they can register for.
